Aviation team wash cars, mulch gardens and window wash at Rocky Bay

Rocky Bay is a leading provider of disability services, offering choice and independence to people of all ages living with disability in Western Australia.  Rocky Bay’s breadth of services, equipment and facilities, highly experienced employees and large team of support staff ensure they can offer support tailored to their client’s and their families.

With a focus on quality and service excellence, Rocky Bay works with people of all ages with disability, delivering relevant therapies, the latest equipment and technology, innovative leisure and social programs, training and employment opportunities – in the home, at their centres and in the community.

The small team of 8 volunteers split into two groups, the car wash group and mulching group, while one team member spent time cooking with some of Rocky Bay's clients.

One of the main services Rocky Bay provides is driver services and the team at Rocky Bay not only need to maintain their vehicles but also keep them clean. The Aviation team helped with cleaning the interior and exterior of several Rocky Bay vehicles, which saved the vehicle service team a lot of time!

Despite it being a hot day the mulching team rolled up their sleeves to shovel, wheelbarrow and rake many barrow loads of mulch onto the surrounding gardens- completely transforming the site!

The team member who spent time with clients cooking and socialising, got a rare insight into the wonderful things that Rocky Bay offer clients.

Rocky Bay was glad to have an opportunity to open its doors to the team and they really hope to see the team volunteer again!

One volunteer expressed that it was

“Emotional learning about some of the client’s stories.”

The day wasn't only about the work completed but also about appreciating the amazing work that organisations like Rocky Bay carry out for the community.
