Browse Development at Bicycles for Humanity

The Browse Development team spent their team volunteering day working at Bicycles for Humanity’s workshop. The team braved the 38 degree heat to help the organisation get through a new lot of donated bikes. The task for the day was to assess each bike for its usability by testing the brakes, pedals, gears, seats and handle bars. Parts that were rusty were sprayed with diesel and parts that were broken were repaired or replaced.

The team found the project enjoyable as it was technical and challenging, a change from the previous volunteering projects. One volunteer commented on the experience, expressing that a positive aspect of the day was;

“Challenging tasks which required working together.”

Despite the heat, the team carried on throughout the day meticulously inspecting and repairing over 40 bikes. Bicycles for Humanity were extremely grateful for the team’s contribution!
