Development Team at Kanyana Wildlife

The Development Team spent their volunteering day out at Kanyana Wildlife helping the organisation with their long list of ongoing tasks, many of which are essential to the daily operations of the native animal rescue organisation.

The Development team broke into small groups and tackled lots of tasks which included: sanding the bilby enclosure which involved sieving sand and making the enclosure nice and clean for the bilbies; cleaning and enriching enclosures with new leaf litter, logs and branches to create an interactive environment for the animals; weeding the emu enclosure; mulching several garden beds and re-leveling some of the main pathways and clearing the paths of honky nuts.

The team worked really hard and were rewarded with an interactive meet and greet with the animals at the end of their day.

One volunteer said that the highlight for them was “helping the animals and seeing them close up.”
