Drilling and Completions at Friends of Yellagonga

A group of 8 people from the Drilling and Completions team made their way to Yellagonga Regional Park to help Friends of Yellagonga (FOY) plant a variety of native plants. Friends of Yellagonga are a group of dedicated volunteers who aim to protect and revitalise Yellagona Regional park.

Yellagonga Regional Park is primarily a wetland system that includes Lake Joondalup, Beenyup and Walluburnup Swamps and Lake Goollelal. The park contains a wide variety of ecosystems from upland forest, fringing wetland and aquatic vegetation to open water bodies which is why it is crucial to protect the park.

FOY are also dedicated to growing their own seedlings. Once the seedlings are ready the group get together to plant the seedlings in designated areas of the park. With the help of the D&C team FOY were able to plant several seedlings in just a few hours! The team were very efficient and productive with each person picking up a role such as, digging holes for the plants, spreading blood and bone into the holes, planting the seedlings and watering.

It was great to see the team work together and enjoy each other’s company throughout the day. FOY were very thankful for the team's contribution and look forward to seeing the plants grow!
