FIFO at Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group

A large crew from the Frontline FIFO team were for the first time all out at the same site - and at the same time! This time the site was located south of Perth within the Armadale –Gosnells region and the mission for the day was to support Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group (AGLG) plant as many native seedlings as possible within the wetland area for a few hours.

The team chucked on their gardening gloves, grabbed a bucket, filled it with seedlings and dispersed throughout the wetland area. The area was still wet and muddy from the recent months of rain, which made it easy to plant in but very tricky to walk through. Thankfully, no team members lost their balance or slipped, as they were all zoned-in on getting as many plants into the ground as they could.

After only a few hours at the site the team had planted several thousand plants!

“ Landcare restoration works totalled over 5,600 plants in the ground, saving AGLG over 2 weeks of community volunteer labour”

Ross from the Armadale-Gosnells Landcare Group stated that the work that the team assisted with will indirectly assist in the application of grants as the site gradually increases in quality.

In no time at all, the team had successfully supported a community organisation all while enjoying a relaxing morning amongst nature, unwinding and caching up with colleagues they don’t get to see often - due to their mismatching FIFO work schedules.
