Integrated Projects garden and mulch at Brightwater

The Integrated Projects team visited Brightwater to volunteer and learn more about the great work the organisation is doing for the community. Brightwater are an organisation who provide a high level of care to its residents and clients, by utilising the services of a range of health care professionals.  The services provided include, nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, social work and speech pathology, within Disability and Residential Aged Care facilities, plus At Home Care. Brightwater has 23 sites north and south of the river.

The Inglewood site in particular is home for many clients living with dementia who really benefit from going out into the garden and engaging their senses. Brightwater needed help to transform the courtyard to help make if more interactive for the residents and their families.

The team were broken up into teams and allocated to various parts of the courtyard. With team work and motivation they completely transformed all the areas they were working on and not to mention shifting enormous amounts of sand out of garden beds and replacing it with fresh mulch – completely transforming the vicinity!
