RESM Projects and Petrophysics help prepare enclosure or Native ARC's new animal Vinnie the Wombat

Native ARC welcomed another Woodside group to help continue the next stages of building the new enclosure for the new edition to the Native ARC family, Vinnie the Wombat.  The team were welcomed by Dean, Native ARC’s manager, who explained more about the work that Native Arc do. One of the main  services Native ARC offers is providing education to school groups. Native ARC believe that education plays a big part in creating a sustainable future and saving animals lives. An animal rehabilitation centre from over east who could no longer house Vinnie have sent him to Native ARC. Vinnie will be used in Native ARC’s education program and is already proving to be popular with Native ARC’s volunteers, supporters and school groups.

The combined teams tackled the big task of removing several wheelbarrows full of mulch from Vinnies' enclosure. Once the mulch was removed the team then laid down metal mesh which will keep Vinnie from burrowing out of the enclosure and escaping.  After the mesh was laid down and cemented in, the team wheelbarrowed the piles of mulch back into the enclosure.

Native ARC is very thankful to Woodside for completing such a laborious project, particularly on a very warm humid day! Thank you for working collaboratively and effectively to help Native ARC achieve such a gruelling task!

From the one of the volunteer's perspective one of the positive aspects of the day was

“Meeting and getting to talk to my team more than normal.”
