Information Solutions at Rottnest Island

One prominent piece of Rottnest history is the island’s seawall, located behind the Visitors Centre extending north along Thomson Bay for approximately 400m. The seawall is believed to have been built by Aboriginal prisoners between 1846 and 1849 and was constructed using limestone quarried on the Island.
