Team-based volunteering is a fun, interesting and meaningful way for Woodside employees to engage with each other in non-traditional settings outside the office. It also gives teams the opportunity to support community organisations by completing a worthwhile project that will last well beyond their single volunteer day.
The Drilling and Completions volunteered their time to help add some finishing touches to Meerlinga's playground, building tactile tyres, sanding wooden pallets and turning them into notice boards, garden beds and musical walls and building a teepee! The work all Woodside teams have contributed would have cost Meerlinga more than $35,000!
The Drilling and Completions team spent a sunny winters day planting native plants along the Canning River helping Armadale Gosnells Landcare Group to restore the degraded river banks.
For the fourth year in a row the Drilling and Completions team headed out to Kalamunda to help repair and maintain mountain bike trails. Many of the volunteers from this group frequent the tracks and what better way to spend their volunteering day but to repair the trails they use!
The Drilling and Completions team visited the North Perth Community Garden for the second year in a row. The community garden serves to promote gardening within the City of Vincent by providing garden bed lots for hire, workshops on gardening and a warm and welcoming environment to meet people. The team assisted by helping build shade cloth structures, oiling fences and posts, propagating plants and pulling the leaves off fruit trees.
